7 OF THE PERFECT PAIRS OF PANTS FOR PETITE WOMEN

I love being short. Well, I love it 99.9% of the time, and the other .1% I am probably shopping for petite pants. Now, this might not seem like that big of a struggle considering a lot of department stores have petite sections, but that means very little in the search for pants that are fashionable for a young 20 something. And yes, a lot of companies carry short sizes but again that’s different than needing inseams for someone who is under 5 feet tall.

Let me explain further. I have some issues with the petite sections at most department stores. While I’ve managed to find a few gems, for the most part, the fashion I’ve found in these relatively small sections has been outdated and not age-appropriate for young women.

The brands that carry short lengths underestimate exactly what it means to be short. While the 30-31in inseams might seem like they are friendly to someone who is on the shorter side they are still going to be way too long for most of us who are extra petite. This is not a problem that lives in the dark so to speak, in fact, if you look to almost anyone under 5’4 they will experience the same complications. Now, I’m not opposed to getting my pants hemmed so they fit properly, but it would be nice to not have to pay almost as much for alterations as I spend on my jeans.

However, not all hope is lost. I mean I’ve been dealing with this problem for 22 years so you best believe I’ve discovered some great brands and styles of pants that are perfect for those of us that are petite and more than just petite but truly short.

Best Skinny Jeans

We all wear jeans a lot. You probably have several pairs in different washes and cuts laying around your house. When I was younger my grandma used to yell at me for showing up to her house with the hems of my pants all torn up because they were way too long. Unfortunately not much has changed as I still tend to wear my straight or bootcut jeans a little long. I think I’ve gotten too used to it at this point but they are better and now tend to rest nicely on top of my sneakers instead of dragging on the ground. I also wear skinny jeans now more than anything and those are much easier to deal with I feel like.

For a long time, my Levi’s 710 Skinny Jeans were my holy grail favorites and I still think they are a great option for those looking for a great pair of skinny jeans that come in a lot of nice washes. But, a few weeks ago I discovered quite possibly the world’s most comfortable pair of skinny jeans that are dynamite for petite women! Express has become my go-to place for skinny jeans for Petites. They carry both petite and short sizes to accommodate different inseam needs and I reach for these Express Petite Jeans more than any other pair. Their short lengths are truly meant for someone on the petite end of the spectrum and I am in love with how comfortable they are. I am sure eventually I will end up replacing my current collection as they wear out and thing because I am reaching for these more often than anything else.
For Petite’s

Ponte Pants For Petite’s

I am still really not the kind of girl who will wear leggings in public but my exception to that rule is the magical world of Ponte pants. I never knew about these amazing pants that are somewhere between the structure of jeans and the comfort of leggings. They are stretch like leggings made of nice material and have pocket details to make them more structured.

Ponte Pants For Petite’s

These petite Loft Ponte pants are definitely favorites. I have three pairs because I wear them so often and am obsessed with them. The zipper pockets and high waisted make them ideal for a variety of outfits from casual to business and date nights. I love pairing them with booties and an oversized sweater for a casual yet comfy look that is flawless and ready for whatever plans might get tossed my way. I even rock these for business casual looks!

I found these comfortable pants at Walmart, and I can’t stop wearing them. They come in a variety of different colors making them perfect for whatever style you had in mind. They work just as well with sandals as they do with boots and sneakers. I am wearing a small and they fit perfectly with a little bit of bunching in the ankles which I don’t mind. These have been great for my casual office environment but also for running around on the weekends.

Black Dress Pants:

Dress pants have probably been my biggest struggle in terms of finding pairs that fit really well. Ann Taylor has been another great spot for finding work-appropriate clothes including dress pants. As you can tell I am more into the skinny cut rather than wide-leg pants though I do still love those as well. These ankle pants are a lifesaver when it comes to being pulled together for the office. When I need to dress up more for clients or things like that these are my go-to because they are so comfortable and look so flawless and professional.

Straight Leg Jeans;

In terms of bootcut or straight leg jeans, my go-to is my Express ones. A little long, perfect for heels, they make my legs look fantastic and hold their shape really well between washes. I love the different colors they come in so whether you are a light wash or dark wash kind of person you are sure to find the perfect pair for you!

It took me a long time and much far and wide searching to find the perfect boyfriend jeans. Distressed, comfortable, and perfect for weekends, casual get together, or anything in between. I wanted to be comfortable wearing them boots or flip-flops and be able to style them like I did for this must-have weekend outfit! These jeans from American Eagle are perfection and they have held up surprisingly well for being relatively inexpensive. They are soft, and just the right amount of slightly loose-fitting without looking way too big or overwhelming on a small frame.
